A recipe for making ketchup.
Ketchup
3lb. | tomatoes, cored and diced 2 tbsp. | olive oil 1 | onion, peeled and diced 0.50 cup | dark brown sugar, packed 0.25 cup | apple cider vinegar 1 tsp. | salt 1 tsp. | dry mustard 0.50 tsp. | celery salt 0.50 tsp. | garlic powder 0.25 tsp. | ground cloves 0.25 tsp. | ground allspice
- In a large saucepan with a heavy bottom, add oil and heat over medium-low heat.
- Add onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are translucent, about 10 minutes.
- Add chopped tomatoes, brown sugar, vinegar, salt, and all seasonings to the pan. Stir well and let simmer for about an hour.
