An animated GIF is an image file made up of multiple frames. It is also referred to as GIF, for simplicity, even though that would technically be incorrect without proper context.
GIF Editing Software
- VirtualDub is free and the latest version will allow you to export a GIF from a movie.
- ImageReady CS allows you to actually edit GIFs; it is not free.
- GIMP + GAP allows you to capture a GIF. Free software.
