IRC is a place where people of all types go to chat and even download files. IRC was very popular in the late 90s and early 00s for warez. It was also very popular for gaming clans to meet in order to coordinate themselves better. These days almost every website has a channel on some IRC network. Though it's not totally relevant to the ability to chat, most people who go on IRC don't know how to use most of the commands available to them. This is because they are retarded.

IRC Clients

If you need a client to get on IRC (and you don't want to use the web IRC below), you can use mIRC on Windows, download mIRC v7.22 (install instructions in info.txt). Pidgin also has IRC built in! For Macs you can use Colloquy. If you are using Linux and you can't figure it out, that's a shame.

You can get a list of all the clients available on the Wikipedia page for Comparison of Internet Relay Chat clients.

IRC Channels

The channels for each site are listed below. You can also get a full list of channels on the network by entering the command /list into your client.

#chanchan

#chanchan is the channel that CHANCHAN moved to after it was decided that EnterTheGame was not a suitable network for the site. Since the birth of CHANCHAN, the channel moved through six IRC networks until it reached the current one.

#malegeneral

#malegeneral is where fags hang out. This is currently the most popular channel on the network. You can enter the from your browser.

#tranchan

#tranchan is where the people of TranCHAN meet. You should join them and stay in there, because it's a pretty lame channel currently!
